With the Squeletor maxi dress, Jean Paul Gaultier picks up where he left off with his 1996 Cyberbaba collection. However, rather than using printed skeletons, he has opted for a trompe l'oeil X-ray print on the Squeletor dress, which gives the impression of showing the inside of the body. In doing so, he transforms medical-technical aesthetics into avant-garde fashion, and typically questions body image and social norms.
