"Jauchzet, Frohlocket, ...". This is how the most famous "Christmas music" in music history begins. Bach's Christmas Oratorio is not a coherent work like his predecessors, but consists of six individual canatas which he wrote for the six festive services between Christmas and Epiphany (Three Kings' Day). In the period before Christmas and on the feast days themselves, the first three cantatas are traditionally performed. This will also be the case on 18 December, 11 a.m. The Vokalensemble '83, conducted by Bernhard Leonardy, and an orchestra consisting of members of the Saarland State Orchestra will sing and make music at the matinée on the occasion of the Fourth of Advent. Soloists at the matinée are Ekaterina Kuridze (soprano), Melissa Zgouridi (alto), Sun Ming Song (tenor) and Peter Schöne (bass).
On 18 December, the concert ticket also entitles the holder to visit the new exhibition JULIAN ROSEFELDT. WHEN WE ARE GONE.
Tickets at 25 euros / reduced 15 euros are available in our online shop and at the box office.
