X-RAY. A Family Album (series of 5 X-ray images)

In his essay Rays of Violence, Shahram Khosravi discusses the social significance of the X-ray gaze: 'The medical gaze of the X-ray machine functions as a biopolitical instrument that regulates and disciplines bodies in the context of age determination for asylum seekers and visa applications for migrants, the commercialisation of women, and the criminalisation of miners. While X-ray technology can save lives, it is also a tool of control and oppression.
