The oil paintings by Lithuanian artist Marija Teresė Rožanskaitė, dating from the 1970s and 1980s, transcend reality, highlighting X-ray diagnosis and therapy and questioning the imbalance of power between doctors and patients. For it is healthcare professionals who decide who is sick and who is healthy. The artist subtly expresses her criticism of the Soviet state.
