Georges Méliès
As early as 1896, the then brand-new medium of film took up the discovery of X-rays. The poster for Les rayons Röntgen by pioneer Georges Méliès from 1898, the only remaining evidence of the lost short film, also stands for the early liaison between X-ray technology and film. As our selection shows, X-ray motifs proved to be just as attractive for film posters in later times as they were for record covers.
